UK Climber Becomes Youngest to Solo Summit Ama Dablam
Kathmandu, April 28: A British climber has made a historic ascent of Ama Dablam (6,812m), becoming the youngest known person to summit the peak solo.
Tom Halton, born in June 2005, successfully reached the summit on April 23, 2026. At just 20 years old, he achieved the feat after several determined attempts.
Halton first tried to climb the mountain at the age of 19, followed by two more attempts at 20 before finally reaching the summit on his third attempt.
Ama Dablam is considered one of the most technical and iconic peaks in the Himalayas, making the solo ascent a significant milestone in mountaineering.
Makalu Adventure, which supported the expedition, described the achievement as an inspiring example of perseverance and determination.
