Hikmat Singh Ayer Appointed Acting CEO of Nepal Tourism Board
Kathmandu, May 6: Senior Director Hikmat Singh Ayer has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Tourism Board.
According to a decision by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Monday, Ayer has been assigned the responsibility of leading the board on an interim basis.
The position became vacant after former CEO Deepak Raj Joshi was relieved of his duties following a government ordinance. Ayer has been appointed acting CEO based on seniority to ensure continuity in leadership.
The ministry said Ayer will oversee daily administration, policy implementation, programme coordination and tourism promotion activities. The move aims to ensure that regular operations of the board continue without disruption.
Ayer, who has long experience within the board, has served as a senior director and played key roles in various tourism-related projects and programmes.
Tourism stakeholders have expressed confidence that the leadership transition will help maintain policy continuity and smooth programme implementation. Under his leadership, the board is expected to prioritise tourism promotion, strengthen Nepal’s presence in the international market and improve internal management.
