Second South Asia Trade Fair Begins at Bhrikutimandap
Kathmandu, May 7: The Second South Asia Trade Fair 2026 BS kicked off today at Bhrikutimandap on Exhibition Road.
The fair features participation from business groups representing Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The expo, which will run until May 11, aims to provide a common platform for exploring industrial, trade and service-related opportunities in South Asia.
The event was jointly inaugurated by ambassadors of various countries to Nepal and members of the business community. Organised by Introduction Trade Shows Nepal, the fair is being held in collaboration with Bangladesh’s Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion Bureau, with support from Bhutan’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment.
The regional fair includes pavilions from several participating nations. Organisers expect the event to attract more than 5,000 members of the business community and over 100,000 visitors, helping promote exportable goods and encourage regional business engagement.
According to fair coordinator Suman Maharjan, the exhibition showcases cottage and handicraft items, indigenous foods, ready-made garments, beauty products, furniture, agricultural products, IT-related goods and services, home appliances and electric vehicles.
The event is expected to help promote products and services, assess market potential, expand buyer-supplier collaboration, and strengthen regional and transnational trade relations among participating countries.
