Janaki (Banke), April 29: A three-day Tharu Food Festival is set to begin in Nepalgunj from April 30 with the aim of promoting indigenous Tharu cuisine and culture.
According to Raj Bikram Shah, General Manager of Soaltee Western Premier Nepalgunj, the festival is being organized for the first time in the city.
The event aims to preserve and promote traditional Tharu foods and the culture associated with them. Experienced cooks will prepare a variety of indigenous dishes for visitors.
Organizers said the festival is expected to help introduce the long-preserved food culture of the Tharu community to both national and international audiences.
Entry to the festival is free, but visitors will need a Rs 500 voucher to taste the food items. The event will run daily from early morning until 11:00 pm, while cultural performances will be held from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The festival will also showcase the lifestyle, art, and traditions of the Tharu community.
