Marriott, MS Group to Launch Nepal’s First JW Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu, June 9: Marriott International and Nepal’s MS Group have signed an agreement to introduce the first JW Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu Valley, further expanding Nepal’s luxury hospitality sector.
The project will be developed by Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited, a company under MS Group, in partnership with Marriott International. The hotel is expected to begin operations by early 2031.
The upcoming JW Marriott Hotel Kathmandu Valley will feature 221 guest rooms and suites, offering premium accommodation and international hospitality standards. Located about 15 minutes from Tribhuvan International Airport, the hotel will provide convenient access to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley.
The property will include multiple dining outlets, a spa, fitness center, swimming pool, and the brand’s signature JW Garden. It will also feature more than 1,600 square meters of event and meeting space designed to host conferences, corporate gatherings, weddings, and other large-scale events.

The hotel management agreement was signed by Gaurav Agrawal, Director and Managing Director of Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited, and Rajeev Menon, President of Marriott International Asia Pacific (excluding China). A separate agreement exchange ceremony was held between Shashikant Agrawal of Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited and David Marriott, Chair of Marriott International.
The project marks the fourth collaboration between MS Group and Marriott International, reflecting the growing partnership between the two organizations in Nepal’s hospitality market.
Industry experts say the addition of the globally recognized JW Marriott brand is expected to strengthen Nepal’s position as a destination for luxury tourism while contributing to investment, employment, and tourism infrastructure development.
