Baglung’s Tarakhola Tea Sets New Quality Benchmark

Galkot (Baglung), April 30: Tea produced in Tarakhola Rural Municipality of Baglung district has achieved a new milestone in quality.
Two varieties of tea produced by Golden Tea Estate Pvt Ltd, located in Tarakhola Rural Municipality-1, secured first position in the Tea Tasting Competition organised in Ilam on Tuesday on the occasion of Tea Day.
The competition, organised by the National Tea and Coffee Development Board, featured four categories. Golden Tea Estate emerged victorious in two of them.
A total of 45 tea brands from 45 tea companies participated in the competition. According to Nagendra Subedi of the Tea and Coffee Development Board, Pokhara, Greenish Orthodox and Golden Tea claimed first place in their respective categories among Greenish Orthodox, Golden Tea, White Tea and Green Tea.
Shishir Gharti Magar, owner of Golden Tea Estate, said that securing first position in the tea tasting competition with tea produced in Tarakhola is a matter of great pride for the region.
Magar has been cultivating tea on around 100 ropanis of land in Tarakhola.
