HAN Signs Over 25 Service Agreements in India to Promote Nepal Tourism
Kathmandu, May 4: The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has signed more than 25 service agreements in India as part of its efforts to promote Nepal’s tourism sector.
A 65-member Nepali tourism delegation led by HAN President Binayak Shah presented a special summer travel package for Indian tourists in New Delhi.
A business-to-business (B2B) meeting and Nepal tourism promotion programme were organised during the visit. According to HAN, Indian tourism entrepreneurs showed interest in Nepal’s nature, culture and adventure tourism, as well as destination weddings, health tourism, conferences, family holidays and trekking.
The programme was jointly organised by the Nepal Tourism Board with support from the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi. More than 100 Indian tourism entrepreneurs held business meetings with representatives from over 50 Nepali star hotels and resorts.
Representatives from the Hotel Association of India, Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India, Tours and Travel Association of India and the Indian Wedding Industry Association participated in the event.
They said interest among Indian tourists in travelling to Nepal has increased due to tensions in the Middle East, rising international airfares, Nepal’s pleasant weather and the growing availability of tourism attractions and facilities in the country.
