Marriott, CG Hospitality to Launch Ritz-Carlton and Westin Hotels in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, June 8 : Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have announced plans to bring two new luxury and premium hotels to Kathmandu, the Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu and the Westin Kathmandu, with both properties expected to open in 2031.
The agreement was signed by David Marriott, Chair of Marriott International, Binod Chaudhary of CG Corp Global, and Rahul Chaudhary of CG Hospitality Global.
As part of his Nepal visit, David Marriott toured the site of a new Marriott-managed Luxury Collection property in Thamel alongside business leaders Shesh Ghale and Jamuna Gurung. He also visited Aloft Kathmandu Thamel with Rajeev Menon of Marriott International. At Nylgiri Above It All, the delegation was welcomed by Prithvi Pande, Chair of Aloft Marriott Kathmandu, and Pratima Pande.

“The visit was a memorable experience for our associates and leadership team to showcase our property,” said Vikram Singh, General Manager of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel.
According to the companies, The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu will be located in Thamel and will feature 150 rooms, including 30 suites, five restaurants and bars, a spa, and more than 1,100 square metres of conference space.
The Westin Kathmandu will also offer 150 rooms and suites, along with a WestinWorkout® fitness studio and 700 square metres of meeting and event facilities.
Together, the two hotels will add 300 rooms to Kathmandu’s hospitality sector, helping meet the growing demand for luxury accommodation among international visitors and tourists.
The hotels will be developed by IEG Group, IJ Group and Sharma & Company, further expanding CG Hospitality’s portfolio across South Asia. CG Hospitality Global is the hospitality arm of Nepal’s multinational conglomerate, CG Corp Global.
