Nepal a World-Class Destination for Spiritual Tourism: British Ambassador Fenn
Kathmandu, June 11: British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, has praised Nepal as a world-renowned destination for spiritual and adventure tourism following his recent visits to Lumbini, the Sagarmatha region and Pashupatinath.
Sharing his experience, Ambassador Fenn said he had the opportunity to visit three of Nepal’s leading spiritual tourism destinations.
“I’ve been able to visit three of Nepal’s top destinations for spiritual tourism: Lumbini and Pashupatinath, with my Minister, Seema Malhotra MP; and Sagarmatha, as a guest of the Everest Marathon,” he said.
Fenn also spoke about attending the Everest Marathon in the Khumbu region, where he presented medals to winning athletes.
“Not as a runner, I hasten to add. But it was humbling to present medals to Nepali athletes, of course the winners were Nepali, who ran all the way from the Khumbu Icefall to Namche Bazaar. The fastest of them broke the course record,” he said.
The ambassador said his visits highlighted Nepal’s unique combination of spiritual, cultural and adventure tourism attractions, which continue to draw visitors from around the world.
