Pakistan Honors Over 200 Nepali Students with Scholarships
Kathmandu: The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal has awarded scholarships to more than 200 outstanding Nepali students during the 14th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Ceremony held in Kathmandu.
The event brought together students, parents, teachers, and representatives from Nepal’s education sectors to celebrate academic excellence and encourage young talent. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Abrar H. Hashmi, attended the ceremony as the chief guest and personally presented scholarships to deserving higher secondary school students selected by their respective schools based on merit and financial need.
A special recognition was also presented to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. Ms. Prapti Lamsal, a student at the Institute of Forestry, Pokhara Campus under Tribhuvan University, received a laptop for being named the top performer among this year’s scholarship recipients.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi described the scholarship initiative as more than a financial support program. “This is not just a scholarship ceremony; it is a celebration of Nepal’s future,” he said. He encouraged students to pursue skills in science, technology, health, biosciences, innovation, diplomacy, financial literacy, and critical thinking to prepare for future leadership roles.
The ambassador noted that Pakistan’s educational cooperation with Nepal includes scholarships for primary and higher secondary students, higher education opportunities in Pakistan, and institutional support for Nepali schools in information technology, sports, liberal arts, and STEM education.
Launched in 2013, the Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Program has supported thousands of Nepali students and has emerged as one of the most respected foreign scholarship initiatives in Nepal.
